Welcome to Harleysville Fire Company

The annual Harleysville Santa Run is scheduled for Saturday, December 19, 2020! Who is excited?! We are!.

Here are some basic reminders about the event based on frequently asked questions we get:
- Starts at 9:30AM and runs until about 3:30/4PM (fire calls can and will delay this if they occur

- We will be doing a food and paper/toiletry good collection again for Shepherd's Shelf. Please place the items at the end of your driveway and do NOT hand them directly to our members so we can maintain social distancing

- We cannot logistically provide a schedule given the nature and complexity of this event (Santa’s separate 4 helpers take 5+ hours each to cover 1/4th of our area - it would take Santa over 20 hours to cover every street we do without his helpers). We have almost 18 square miles and a population of over 20,000 people to cover that day.

- There will be a lead vehicle with its sirens and lights on to alert you that Santa is coming to your Street. Santa will be on top of the big firetruck in the middle, followed by a vehicle that will be collecting the food and dry good donations for the Shepherd's Shelf pantry behind.
- If you are not home, leave your donations in a bag by your mailbox (please don’t leave it near your trash as it is easy for us to mistake one for the other) or drop them off at the station.

- If you miss Santa, it will not be hard to find him as he will be driving all around our coverage area between these hours so just listen for the sirens and drive around and I guarantee you will locate him and flag us down and we will always stop.

- There will not be candy canes this year due to COVID-19!

- We will not be able to return phone calls/emails/communication next Saturday relating to where Santa is and where he is heading next, again due to the complexity of the incident and manpower needed we will not have the ability to get back to these individual requests.

- Please meet Santa at the end of your driveways or closest intersections if it all possible, it makes it very difficult when we cannot see you at your front porch especially those of you with long driveways

- Finally, please be patient, kind and remember that this event is ran by almost 35 of our dedicated volunteers who spend their entire day, in all kinds of weather, to bring Santa to each and every street in our coverage area. They spend their entire day away from their families to provide some joy for yours and at the end of the day, bring over 5 truckloads of food and goods to those who need it more.

Looking forward to a great day during a really tough year! Please follow this event for further details as we get closer

Attention local residents and businesses, it has come to our attention that there are changes occurring with the old 10-digit phone numbers that pre-date the current 911 system that alarm monitoring companies (fire, medical and security/police) use to call Montgomery County 911 to report alarm activations at your residential or business properties.  It is critical that you contact your alarm company and confirm what number they are using to contact Montgomery County 911.  Attached is a letter from the Montgomery County Department of Public Safety explaining these changes.

Here are the numbers that you should be giving your alarm company: Official Notification Letter

Countywide 10-digit Number for Police: 610-635-4300

Countywide 10-digit Number for Fire: 610-635-4455

Countywide 10-digit Number for EMS: 610-635-4466
